Today was packed! We went to the Colosseum right after breakfast, and I think we stayed for two hours. We beat the crowds! Muahaha! It was so cool to be in an arena I've only learned about in stories and school. Tbh, I usually like imaging myself in a historical place during its era. Soooo, I kinda walked through the Colosseum as if I was the townsfolk about to watch the games! My heart was super jumpy, and I sat on an ancient pillar... OooOuu... @.@ Afterwards, we walked through the Roman Forum, and it was getting HOT! I could only imagine myself wearing a robe in the heat, and I was sweating more just thinking of it. How did they do it back then?!? We then took the metro to head towards the Vatican, but we got lunch right after we got off from the metro. I had spagetti alla carbonara. Mmm... Italy's pasta.
We were trying to find the Vatican, and when we thought we found it, it was just the Vatican museum! It took two hours to get through because the whole place was as if everyone were a school of sardines squished in one place...TWO HOURS without looking at the exhibits! And it was very hot, humid and stinky...a lot of people did not wear their deodorants. The most notable place in the museum was the Sistine Chapel, that's where they vote for the new pope and show it through the chimney. It also had "The Creation of Adam" by Michelangelo! I was very surprised, I didn't know it was there. I saw it in person ^-^ It was only then that we figured that museum did not lead to the Vatican... ugh.
We finally found out how to get in, but it was another huge line in the sun and Jared, Jeren and I were soooo tired from the previous night- I forgot to mention that we worked out, and we lifted what we shouldn't since we hadn't in awhile, and we didn't really get to eat or drink anything afterwards... Anyways! The three of us were in pain and very sleepy, so we took a nap in the Vatican square...hah. Eventually the sun set-ish, and the line got way smaller. We quickly went through, and once I entered into the Vatican... It was enchanting. :') The windows directed the sun's light as if it was directly from heaven... I cannot explain it... it was ghostly in a beautiful, non-scary way.
We grabbed dinner afterwards... Jared's birthday dinner <3 He got a steak bigger than my head, and thicker then my clenched fist!!! And the wine complemented it very much. We went shopping a little bit after, and returned back to the hotel. It was a long daaay, but very eventful Birthday :)
