We arrived at the Füssen town station in Bavaria, Germany in the morning and were definitely wearing the wrong attire for the weather. Venice was so nice and warm, but Füssen was raining a bit and chilly. It eventually got sunnier and we accommodated the best we could. The station had lockers and we could leave our luggage in while we explored, but they were all occupied. We were figuring out what to do and even considered leaving the town since we'd be the only people carrying all our stuff to the attractions. Before making a final decision, we went to look for something to eat in town. Everything was closed, but we found a farmer's market. Omigosh! The tent vendor had Elsässer Flammkuchen on it (I tried looking it up and Tarte Flambée came up). It was similar to a pizza, but I liked it a lot better than pizza. I wish we had some here, I haven't seen any...Now, I'll start looking! We also got wine, focaccia bread, pate, and jamon... this was just a farmer's market in Germany and it tasted a lot better than nice restaurants in the US. We stayed there for awhile, just eating... Hah.
We went back to the station and were lucky to find lockers!!! Yay! Then we took a taxi to the Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle. They were in another town, but we just got dropped off and walked. The Neuschwanstein Castle is actually the one that inspired and the Sleeping Beauty/Disney castle so they look very similar, and the Hohenschwangau Castle is the above picture. After seeing them, we grabbed lunch and headed back to the station to catch another night train to Berlin.
Train day all day! After the night train, we made a few transfers and got to Berlin before dinner. We didn't do much that day cause of all the traveling. These are my Milka cookies I got at one of the stations! I've loved Milka chocolate since I was little, when my childhood friend introduced them to me from her yearly Switzerland trip, Oh Barb...you changed my life :3 I didn't know they made cookies! They were delightful <3
